What You’ll Be Doing:

Contract Negotiation & Advisory:

  • Negotiate and advise on commercial contracts with clients for varied service lines including permanent and contract recruitment, staff leasing arrangements, employer of record services, and service agreements.
  • Design contracts for employees, temporary workers, and subcontractors when required.

Strategic Legal Support:

  • Provide legal advice for new ventures in new and existing territories, ensuring compliant engagement routes and commercial models.
  • Maintain integrity of commercial risk mitigation and ensure internal compliance with NES’s Schedule of Management Authority (SOMA).
  • Defend NES’s position in disputes, breaches, or claims arising from clients or contingent workers.

Employment Law Expertise:

  • Research and advise on labor/employment law as appropriate.
  • Apply relevant legislation to workforce operations and provide subject matter advice on employment law matters, including termination, resignation, and contractor queries.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Coordinate contractual documentation associated with client requests and service orders.
  • Log, escalate, and advise on incidents and risks relating to contingent workforce and operating models.

Training & Education:

  • Educate and train the sales team on compliant engagement solutions.
  • Deliver onboarding training for new starters on legal processes and engagement protocols.
  • Complete annual regional training on best practices (some international travel included).

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory updates regarding local labor laws and present findings to the Legal Director regularly.
  • Support litigation matters, including subpoena and discovery responses.

What We’re Looking For:

Legal Expertise:

  • Qualified legal professional with a JD from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar (required).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in-house or in private practice with relevant commercial exposure.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong drafting skills with excellent command of the English language.
  • Knowledge of contingent workforce compliance in the United States is an advantage.
  • Experience negotiating complex commercial contracts and applying relevant legislation to workforce operations.

Communication & Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, managing interactions with both junior and senior staff.

Professional Conduct: Demonstrates good practice in handling sensitive information and always ensures confidentiality.
