Business Intelligence Analyst

This is an opportunity to take ownership of Power BI dashboard delivery, partner with stakeholders across the business, and help shape the evolution of our analytics landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing

Power BI Dashboard Delivery

• Design, develop, deploy and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports

• Ensure dashboards are performant, user‑friendly and aligned to agreed standards

• Support the full dashboard lifecycle: requirements → build → release → iteration → maintenance

• Apply consistent visual branding, UX principles and metric definitions across reports

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements

• Support requirements gathering and translate business questions into clear reporting solutions

• Work with stakeholders to clarify unclear or low‑value requests

• Manage expectations around scope, timelines and data limitations with guidance from the Team Lead

• Provide walkthroughs, documentation and ongoing support for dashboard users

Data, Modelling & Platform

• Write and maintain SQL queries to source and transform data

• Build and maintain Power BI data models following best practices

• Collaborate with data engineering/platform teams to resolve data quality or availability issues

• Monitor dataset refreshes, failures and performance issues

Quality, Documentation & Improvement

• Ensure metrics and definitions are consistent and well‑documented

• Maintain clear documentation for datasets, dashboards and reports

• Help reduce technical debt in existing reporting

• Learn and apply best practices for semantic models, refresh strategies and performance optimisation

What We’re Looking For

• 2–3 years’ experience working with Power BI

• Hands‑on experience with DAX, data modelling and report development

• Working knowledge of SQL for querying and transforming data

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or a strong willingness to learn

• Understanding of analytics fundamentals (KPIs, metrics, basic data modelling)

• Experience working with non‑technical stakeholders

• Ability to translate business questions into analytical outputs

• Clear communicator, comfortable explaining insights to varied audiences

• Well‑organised and able to manage multiple dashboards and requests

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

• Pragmatic mindset focused on delivering useful, actionable insights
