We’re on the hunt for a talented Payroll Manager to take the reins and ensure our payroll operations are as smooth as clockwork! If you’re passionate about transforming payroll from a routine task into a seamless, efficient process, this is the role for you. Based in our Camberwell office in Melbourne, you'll be joining a tight-knit, social team taking charge of our end-to-end payroll operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the Charge: Take charge of our end-to-end payroll operations and ensure every paycheck is accurate, timely, and delivered with a flourish. Bonus points if you can make even the most complex payroll scenarios look easy.
  • Control & Compliance: Implement and monitor local payroll controls like a pro, making sure we’re always in line with the latest rules and regulations. Think of it as keeping our payroll ship sailing smoothly.
  • Team Management: Oversee and direct payroll procedures, supervise a fantastic payroll team, and be the go-to expert for resolving any payroll puzzles that come your way. You’ll also be the hero who ensures everyone is aligned and performing at their best.
  • Communication & Administration: Handle all things payroll communications and administration with finesse, making sure everything runs like a well-oiled machine.
  • Coaching & Development: Provide direction and coaching to your team, helping them grow and thrive while keeping an eye on performance metrics and KPIs. Your leadership will ensure our team delivers exceptional service, every time.
  • Continuous Improvement: Review and analyze our payroll practices, spotting opportunities for process improvements and best practices. You’ll be the mastermind behind refining our procedures and maintaining top-notch standards.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Develop and maintain comprehensive payroll documentation to keep us in tip-top shape for audits and compliance checks. Your attention to detail will ensure everything’s always in order.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and consistency in our processes. You’ll be the friendly face everyone turns to for payroll insights.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: You’ve got 10+ years of experience leading a payroll team and you’re a pro at navigating the world of payroll with a strong understanding of Australian statutory taxes and benefits.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, plus a deep knowledge of global payroll best practices. You’re process-driven, detail-oriented, and can juggle multiple projects like a circus performer.
  • Leadership: You’re a confident leader who can work seamlessly with Finance and Operations Directors, influence without authority, and provide top-notch customer service.
  • Tech Savvy: Extensive experience with system design and implementation, with a desire to always provide ‘above and beyond’ service.
  • Qualifications: Degree in business related discipline (Business, Accounting, Finance, HR, etc.) Professional certification in CPP is a plus.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate your team while maintaining a positive and proactive approach.
